169 Course Descriptions 2018-2019 Catalog Aviation Maintenance Technology 32 AIRCRAFT SHEETMETAL STRUCTURES, AIRCRAFT & ENGINE INSTRUMENTS, AND ICE & RAIN PROTECTION 3.5 units, 5.83 lecture hours COREQUISITES: Aviation Maintenance Technology 31, 31L, 32L, 33, and 33L. ADVISORIES: English 126 and eligibility for English 125 and Mathematics 201. This lecture course will cover a variety of subject areas required by the Federal Aviation Administration as part of the Aviation Maintenance Technology Program. Topics include: Identification and selection of appropriate aircraft hardware and materials; inspection and repair of sheet-metal structures, installing conventional rivets, forming, lay out, and bending of sheet metal; inspection, servicing, and repair of electronic flight instrument systems and heading, speed, altitude, temperature, pressure, and position indicating systems; and the inspection, servicing, and repair of airframe ice and rain control systems. This lecture course will cover a variety of subject areas required by the Federal Aviation Administration as part of the AviationMaintenance Technology Program. Topics include: turbine engine fuel metering systems, electronic engine fuel controls, reciprocating and turbine fuel metering system components, and performing fuel management transfers and defueling procedures.
